Why do you want to be a Trial Gamemaster?
As a previous EM as well as an avid D&D player and DM, it is fulfilling to come up with stories and share them with a community of people, especially when said community can help write and contribute to that story. I have been noted by SWRP community members, especially during my recent tenure as Junior Event Master on Anvil Servers, as creative and innovative, and I have held a relatively positive reputation amongst these communities I have devoted myself to the over eight years I have been a part of SWRP.
ExpGames appears to be a promising potential continuation of my SWRP career, and I would like to challenge myself to create and share stories in an entirely different time period than I am used to, that being pre and post-GCW (19 BBY-10 ABY). I am not too familiar with the Old Republic time period, but I am willing to learn and immerse myself in this time to create authentic, engaging, and ideally pioneering events.
Do you have any prior experience as a Gamemaster or Event Master on other servers?
I have been an Event Master on Imperial Gaming SWRP and Junior Event Master on Anvil Servers SWRP.
- I do not remember specific timeframes of when I was an Event Master on Imperial Gaming; COVID ruining my perception of time and the loss of my main hard drive in July 2022 is to blame for this.
- I held a Moderator position on Imperial Gaming in early to mid-2022 (and possibly late 2021) but was heavily involved in assisting the Event Master team and senior administration in lore and timeline progression events.
- I was also a part of the Anvil Servers Event Master team from 27/10/24 to the server's closure on 11/02/25.
What skills or qualities do you possess that make you a good fit for this position?
- As mentioned before, according to SWRP community members, I am creative and innovative.
- I am always looking to push the boundaries with what is achievable during an event and give them an amount of depth that players can find interesting and engaging.
- I have a great deal of knowledge about Star Wars lore and like to incorporate references when I can to maintain continuity.
- As a DM of nearly five years, I have learned how to adapt to unusual and unexpected situations to rerail stories and mediate chaos that may be sparked admist an event, as well as rewrite an event chain if things go entirely off the rails.
- I am always open to receiving feedback for my events and will happily apply feedback to future event, and I will continually strive to better my usage of Gmod's mechanics and tools for use in events.
How would you handle a player complaining openly about your event in game?
I would politely ask the player to provide constructive criticism and suggestions on how to improve either in an open Discord chat or in private messages. I will more than happily engage in conversation to understand the player's greivances as well as explain why I conducted myself the way I did.

Scenarios
. If their presence in the story is incredibly important, if the circumstances allow, it can be ruled that their "death" was in-fact them being knocked out, and roleplay with that character can continue in the medbay and/or in interrogation. If the circumstances of their death do not allow this i.e. they're disintegrated, exploded, decapitated, or otherwise utterly destroyed, the information that character may have had will be transferred into either another character that will be played later, or in some kind of writing that is available on the character's corpse. If their presence is not important to the story, nothing has to be done to retcon their death.

Scenarios
Scenario 1: You are running an event and have to go, but you do not have a replacement. How would you handle this situation?
If I have the time, I will post a @@ or @@@ in-game to state that the event will be wrapping up due to having to leave and having no replacements, being honest, transparent, and sympathetic to the players who have dedicated their time to see this event through to its end. I will also post a statement on the Discord server providing the same information and promise to either continue the event at a later time or move onto the next one in a chain and sort out issues in the interim in roleplay.Scenario 2: An Event Character dies before they are supposed to, and are seen to have died by multiple players. What do you do?
Deal with itScenario 3: You notice a Gamemaster abusing their perms. What would you do in this situation?
I will ask them to stop and, regardless of whether they continue or not, report them to the Head Gamemaster.Scenario 4: You crash the server during an event, the event still has 15 minutes left before it ‘should’ be complete. What do you do?
Similar to Scenario 1, I would post a statement on the Discord server stating that the event will be wrapped up and the remaining roleplay, if there is anything substantial, will be continued once the server is back up outside of the event. I would also apologise for crashing the server and will clearly endeavour to avoid the situation happening in the future.Scenario 5: A player is dissing your event. They are not giving any sort of constructive criticism, instead solely attempting to pick a fight with the Event Team. How do you react?
I will contact the Moderation or Administration team to assist as their behaviour is inappropriate. I will, however, try to interpret the player's unhelpful critique and blatant hate into some kind of constructive criticism that I can use to keep mind of in future events; not to necessarily bend to the knee to this rude player, but to improve my events as a whole.Scenario 6: A player is attempting to involve themselves in a part of lore that requires Gamemaster approval, they do not have such approval but insist on continuing the RP. What do you do?
Similar to Scenario 3, I will ask them to stop and put my foot down, stating that they do not have the authority to continue this roleplay. If they do not listen afterward or argue the point, I will contact the Head Gamemaster or another member of management to assist in the situation.
Create an Event plan and post it to show a basic understanding of how to run/prepare an event
- Firstly, prior to the event: Have at least a basic story in mind beyond enemies mindlessly attacking us - something that the players can grasp onto and have at least some interest in.
Secondly, select the kinds of NPCs (if there are any) that will be featured in the event and assess where and how they could be used. If needed, change their weapons and behaviour to suit the situation.
Thirdly, select the map the event will take place on, whether it be on-base/ship or on another map.
Fourthly, if needed, have a dupe already made and accessible to be placed down before the event starts, and keep in mind what needs to be changed around the map as the event goes on.
Finally, if needed, choose trustworthy event characters and thoroughly explain their role during the event. - Announce the event in the Discord server with at least a half-hour notice. The event's description should be concise but contain enough information that players can understand and gather interest from - the description can be as vague or as thorough as the event calls for.
- When it is event time, if necessary, run a brief briefing in-game and, if necessary, have the players take off in ships to travel to their next destination. If necessary, after some time, change the map. If a briefing and map change is not necessary before the event starts, at least briefly telegraph the beginning of, for example, an attack in enemy comms, before beginning.
- If a map change is necessary, once the map has loaded in, set up spawn points in a contained area that players will stay in during event preparation. Clearly mark that players are not to leave the area until instructed to.
- If necessary, run a second more thorough in-game briefing which clearly outlines the goals of the mission, keeping in mind the amount of players and the types of regiments present at the event.
- Run the event, spawning NPCs, providing comms, orders, and descriptions, and respond to private messages from players to clarify what they are interacting with. The event must have a tangible goal and ideally is linear with a clear path of where to go and what to do; if a more "open world sandbox" kind of event is being run, provide plenty of opportunties and things for the players to interact with. If event characters are present, they should be concisely and directly guided.
- Once the event is complete, run a debriefing giving a summary of what was achieved during the event and what needs to be done in the future, either to set up an event chain and/or to facilitate future roleplay. Outstanding moments and players should be highlighted and commendations should be given out. If necessary, change the map and dismiss the players.
